All in a Day's Work

June 17th, 2004

Here are some of the news stories for Thursday, June 17th, 2004:

Bomb shuts down major Iraqi pipeline.
Car bomb kills at least 31 outside Iraqi army base.
A majority of Iraqis want the US to leave Iraq immediately.
President Bush, in a speech to soldiers, says that "Life is better" in Iraq.
9/11 Commission reports that there was no connection between Iraq and Al-Qaeda.
Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld issued an order to hide a detainee in Iraq;
Army general objected that this violated international law;
Then they forgot about the detainee and never interrogated him.

Is there ANYBODY who thinks that Mr. Bush can be re-elected?

[Afterward, 2010: never underestimate the stupidity of the American electorate.]
