I don’t think that I have used the ability to have multiple Reactions to an Option. In every Option in every Encounter, there’s a single reaction, with no use of the weighting algorithm. Does this not suggest that I should dump multiple Reactions and permit just one reaction to each Option? That would certainly simplify things considerably.
I made the false assumption that Options and Reactions might apply to any of the characters. But in practice, each Encounter is written for a specific character, and that extends to each of the Options and Reactions. Hence, the only variability that might apply would be changes in that character’s pValues. Intrinsic personality traits never change, so they’re irrelevant and should be removed from the popup menus for the Reaction weightings.
However, there’s an ugly discrepancy that might bite me in the butt further down the road. The Consequence is tied to an Option, not a Reaction, but the Reaction is dependent upon the relationship of the antagonist to the protagonist.
Oops. The Reaction is the only way that we can give feedback to the player about a character’s pValues.
Never mind.
