I’m struggling with the redesign of the global trait and relationship variables. Currently they are Bad_Good, Bumbling_Competent, and Timid_Dominant. However, I’m tempted to replace Timid_Dominant with Foolish_Wise. Perhaps instead I should replace Bumbling_Competent with Foolish_Wise. So we have these three possible arrangements:
Bad_Good
Bumbling_Competent
Foolish_Wise
Bad_Good
Bumbling_Competent
Timid_Dominant
Bad_Good
Foolish_Wise
Timid_Dominant
The primary issue is the apparent overlap of Bumbling_Competent and Foolish_Wise, but in fact the former reflects warmaking competence while the latter reflects learning from Merlin.
Individual Versus Group Perceptions
Another matter is the use of individual versus group perceptions. Most of the important perceptions are group perceptions, but I included the possibility of individuals having unique perceptions. This is manifested in the Target input and the second row of changes in perceptions. As it happens, I have only about four personal interactions per character — not enough to justify the unique perceptions. I must either increase the number of personal interactions or dump the entire feature. At the moment, I inclined to the latter. If I take that path, the design is simplified. But then, what is the effect? How will any of this affect final results?
