These were miniature donkeys that we acquired around 1998. Some Hollywood rich person had bought a ranch in the area and had purchased these donkeys when they were cute little babies. But then they grew up to be big animals that defecated! So they got rid of them, and we ended up with them. They were Blackjack, Bobbin, and Braythoven. Bobbin was a bit of a runt and died soon after. After Binky died in January 2012, we were worried that they no longer had protection from the mountain lion, so we gave them away to a man who had two young kids — perhaps 11 years old — to raise. We gave him all the tack and a considerable amount of hay as well.
