Kinky showed up at the head of our driveway on October 4th, 1999. He was obviously a drop-off; some idiot decided to dump their cat out in the wild where he could live a happy life catching mice – or so they thought. Usually, such cats end up either as roadkill or mountain lion lunch. But Kinky was lucky – we found him first. His kinked tail is the result of a genetic oddity (I refuse to call it a defect, because it works perfectly well.) This cat has a surplus of “catitude” -- he’s quick to bring out his claws, but he’s also extremely affectionate. He gets to stay in my office at night.
Kinky died on September 20th, 2013, of intestinal cancer.
