Sherry and her two lambs Sherlock and Sheeba were Valentine’s Day presents in 1985. She lived a long life, but began to go downhill in May of 1994. She went down and couldn’t get back up. However, I had an idea. The grass was long and green, so I dragged her to a spot with plenty of grass and left a bucket of water. Every day for a month, I’d move her a few feet to the side; when I reached the end of the section, I’d move her down a step and start bringing her back. It was rather like a typewriter or eating from a corn cob. She lasted a month that way.
